Its not every day that you get to walk up a mountain and call it work!

Published 18/03/2010 12:37:00 - News in Super Rod

Super Rod's factory is located on the edge of a national park in Wales (UK) called the Brecon Beacons; so when the opportunity to participate in a team building exercise arose, the idea of spending a sunny spring day walking up a nearby mountain seemed ideal. However, the reality was a little different.

We arrived at the car park of the Sugar Loaf mountain and were met by thick fog!

We were assured that the views from the top are spectacular, but as you can see from the photo, any views were totally obscured.

On a good note, we did manage to find our way back down...

Malcolm Duncan, managing director of Super Rod Ltd, has just returned from an extremely successful trade mission to the USA. The trip focussed around the BICSI show in Florida, which attracts the great and good of the industry. The products, which have long been a 'must have' for UK electricians, received lots of brilliant feedback from end users and trade contacts. 25 days into 2010 and its already looking like a good year!

 Turning Japanese...

Published 22/07/2009 14:23:00 - Industrial News

The world is getting smaller! At least thats is what it feels like when your having a video conference with a Super Rod customer in Japan! Mr Kasahara installs fibre optic cable in domestic properties and to date has bought at least one of each Super Rod product available in Japan. He faces the same problems when routing cables as UK electricians, and commented that the rod system saves him time and allows him to complete previously impossible tasks. In the spirit of innovation Mr Kasahara contacted Super Rod to make recommendations for improvements to the Super Rod range, tailoring it for the Japanese market. If you have an idea or feedback you wish to discuss with us, please feel free to get in touch and we will arrange a conference call. We look forward to hearing from you - no matter how far away you are!.

 I’d like to thank

Published 16/02/2009 13:29:00 - Industrial News

It’s almost time for the Oscar’s; time for the great and good of Hollywood to make those cringe worthy acceptance speeches, thanking everyone from the director to their dog walkers! The speeches may be gut wrenching but the sentiment did get us thinking. It is right to thank all those who contribute to success, and here at Super Rod, that means you guys. Our products continue to get better thanks to the input and feedback we get from the market. This is why we always welcome your comments on our products; whether you ring us directly, send an email or leave feedback on our site, it all helps to make sure our products are the very best!

 Snow joke

Published 04/02/2009 15:58:00 - Industrial News

Snow may have gripped the country, but fear not, your Cable Rod set will work as well as ever! Ok, so this is probably not your first thought in these icy conditions, but it is something we have given a lot of though too. Super Rod is so committed to quality that we recently conducted environmental tests on our rods! We subjected the rods to temperatures ranging between -50 and +50 degrees Celsius, to check there were no detrimental effects on performance. You’ll be glad to know they all passed with flying colours! So the next time you are stuck on a freezing cold building site, or, when the summer finally arrives, in a hot attic, remember that your Cable Rod set is more than up to the job!

 Don’t move…improve!

Published 28/01/2009 16:41:00 - Industrial News

So the UK is now officially in a recession, and as we all know, a recession tends to hit the new build housing market hard. The knock on effect for electricians is obvious, as no new builds equals no first fit / second fit installs. But let’s not get too downhearted, as the saying goes ‘every cloud has a silver lining. Our research has shown that the amount of domestic electrical renovation work has increased significantly during the credit crunch, as people choose to improve their current homes instead of moving. This is where Cable Rod comes into its own, it is ideal for rewires! With Cable Rod you can route cable under floors, over ceilings and through walls without having to significantly disrupt the environment. This means less lifting of floorboards, less time spent in attics, and less making good of walls! With all the time and effort you will save you can get onto the next billing job faster, meaning these tools don’t only pay for themselves almost straight away, they’ll go on to make you money for years to come!

 How strong!!

Published 23/01/2009 12:03:00 - Industrial News

Did you know that we test each batch of Cable Rods on a machine called a 'Tensiometer' to ensure that it meets our tensile strength specification? We fix the rods into the Tensiometer, and then basically pull them with a force of up to 2.5 tonnes! To be honest, the rods don't last that long, but they do consistently exceed our minimum standard of 200kg! Think about that in real terms - the average male only weighs 85kg... The Tensiometer was a significant investment for the company, but coupled with our advanced production techniques, it has helped us to develop a product which cannot be beaten (believe us, we know as we also test all our competitors products!).

SAVE TIME - REDUCE EFFORT - EARN MORE! Three reasons to use Cable Rod.

Published 21/01/2009 16:15:00 - News in Super Rod

SAVE TIME: Using Cable Rod saves on average 50% of your time when compared with make do tools like trunking lid and coat hangers. What could you do with all that extra time? REDUCE EFFORT: Cable Rod will fit through holes as small as 8mm diameter, which means that you won't have to spend time and effort 'making good' worksites. You can easily span under a floor, a wall, or over a ceiling with only a couple of access holes! EARN MORE: The combination of less effort and the time you will save means you can get on to the next job faster, earning you more money in the process! Why not do the sums for yourself... Work out how much time you spend routing cable each week, and then think how much time and effort Cable Rod could save you...
